Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
I have joined SIFE, which stands for ‘Students in Free Enterprise’ and is a global not-for-profit organisation active in 47 countries around the world. It is the largest network of students and business leaders in the world.
SIFE has allowed us, a group including business and engineering students, to develop an overseas project in Malawi to ‘create economic opportunities for others’. We have combined our business and engineering knowledge to inaugurate the design and establishment of a hydroelectric start-up business scheme, and nutritional business prospects with the aim of improving the lives of those in Malawi.
The engineers have designed a small-scale hydropower generation system for a small village, Ruarwe, situated in Lake Malawi, to be installed in the summer this year. The approximate cost of this scheme is £5000.
Ruarwe is an extremely small, rural and deprived fishing village perched on the shores of Lake Malawi. There is no infrastructure and no power source. We aim to teach the people of Ruarwe how to build and manage the generation system, as well as help them improve nutrition and business skills.
By donating you will be helping improve educational opportunities through the provision of lighting to allow studying at the community centre and in a primary school after dark. In addition, power will be provided to a health centre to refrigerate vaccinations and sterilise medical equipment.
Thank you for taking the time to click on this page and I would greatly appreciate any small donations. I feel that this project provides an opportunity to make a real difference and change lives.
Thank you!
