The British Red Cross, a charity incorporated by Royal Charter 1908, helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. And when the crisis is over, we help them to recover and move on with their lives.

Story

Dear All,

Alex rode his bike for 5 miles around Dulwich Park on Saturday 6th February 2010 at 11.30am to raise money to help the survivors of the earthquake in Haiti. Alex was inspired by Charlie Simpson (also age 7) who has fundraised for Unicef and Alex wanted to do something similar to raise funds for the British Red Cross, so they can do more to help too.

Alex started to feel tired after the second lap of four and so we talked about what the money he had raised would do to help the people of Haiti. Buying tents for 40 people, tools, crayons and colouring books for children who have lost everything and a wood burning stove for warmth and to cook food. He quickly forgot his tired legs and by the end had loved the challenge and was glad of his success.

By donating through JustGiving, your payment is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid (28%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - Alex will raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Many thanks,

Alex
