Dear All,
Alex rode his bike for 5 miles around Dulwich Park on Saturday 6th February 2010 at 11.30am to raise money to help the survivors of the earthquake in Haiti. Alex was inspired by Charlie Simpson (also age 7) who has fundraised for Unicef and Alex wanted to do something similar to raise funds for the British Red Cross, so they can do more to help too.
Alex started to feel tired after the second lap of four and so we talked about what the money he had raised would do to help the people of Haiti. Buying tents for 40 people, tools, crayons and colouring books for children who have lost everything and a wood burning stove for warmth and to cook food. He quickly forgot his tired legs and by the end had loved the challenge and was glad of his success.
