Story

So I made it! After being asked if I'd have the cojones to join the mighty Truants for 130+ miles around Marrakesh in some serious heat, I can now proudly say I rose to the challenge and that the Truants have already generated over 220 grand for kids in need - no small task to say the least. Sure, it was hard going, but cycling around Morocco? That's the easy bit. It's the people working at these charities who are really going the extra mile, and it's been a genuinely life-changing experience to get involved. And it's not too late to donate. Do it for the kids! I did.

Less than a week to go - excitement about seeing Morocco mixed with apprehension about the ride itself. Delighted about the result for my charity ebay auction. Ten pounds away from the magic number...

Not only am I cycling regularly. I've also had to finally learn how to use Ebay to auction some choice items that I've been given for the cause. Check them out here! http://tinyurl.com/8kdy573

154%!!!! Great night out meeting the other riders last week - some great people. Even better, we met reps from each of the charities: total heroes. Saw a map of the route we're taking. Suddenly it's all gotten very real, and incredibly exciting. Much work to do in the meantime.

Great 45 mile ride to Windsor last week. Struggled, but it was educational. A beer's never tasted sweeter. Ass update: feeling has returned. Joy of joys.

Stuff like this makes me feel incredibly fortunate to have the friends and colleagues that I do - this is no individual task, but the result of encouragement from dozens of awesome people. Other news: getting a gel seat soon. Looking forward to being able to feel my ass again.
