Jurassic Coast Challenge · 28 January 2009

Behçet's (pronounced Bet-jets) is a rare, complex and life-long condition caused by disturbances in the body's immune system. Behçet's can affect people of any age, but it most common in those aged 20-40. The society runs a helpline, funds research, and offers financial support for patients in need.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

On the 27-29 March 2009 I will be attempting the Jurassic Coast Challenge which is a multi-marathon event covering 78.6 miles over 3 days. It will start in Lyme Regis and follow the rugged coastal path to Studland Bay, covering more than 10,000 feet in ascent over the course!

I am raising money for the Behcet's Syndrome Society, a charity that aims to help those affected by this rare disease. Having been diagnosed with Behcet's early in 2008 I have found it difficult to keep positive and continue training, but hopefully this event will see a return to form.

The charity is only small and is dependent on public donations to continue its vital role, so please be generous - it's so easy and only takes a second. Remember that if you're a UK taxpayer Gift Aid means the Charity will be able to get money back from the taxman - everybody's a winner!

Many thanks

Alex
