Unfortunatley I know of many other friends and acquaintances over the years who have also suffered with breast cancer. My friend Amanda, with whom I am doing this trek, was 39 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.  She, like many others went through the gruelling treatment battling in her determined and positive way to fight the disease. Amanda inspired me to commit to this walk with her bravery.

I continue to remain amazed at the courage and strength of those who suffer and how their positive attitude mostly influences the outcome. 

It is with all these people in mind that when I recently reached 40 I wanted to do something significant for a charity I felt strongly about. We are going to to trek 80 km across the Great Wall to raise money for our chosen charity. I have committed to raise £3000 for Yorkshire Cancer research.

Please please help me raise money for Cancer research. I have seen the devastating impact this disease has on those that suffer and those close to them. Please help contribute to research which will save lives.
