Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·

The Mental Health Foundation believe no-one living in the UK should be deprived of the opportunity for good mental health because of who they are, the community they come from or where they live. We’re developing better ways to support good mental health in every community.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 25th April 2010 I will be running the Virgin London Marathon in aid of the Mental Health Foundation.  The Mental Health Foundation have a vision for a mentally healthy world where people are free from the suffering caused by mental illness.

This run is going to be a big challange for me that I'm taking very seriously, my attitude is what's the point in doing it unless I put the hard work and effort in.  This is a chance to achieve one of my goals at the same time as giving back to others by raising money for charity.  Although I'm under no illusions that it's going to be hard work!

UPDATE 25.11.09 - so, I have since joined a running club (Winston Runners) and have started training at least 3 times a week with them.  I've also done 2 competative runs with my first half-marathon of 2010 booked in for January (better lay off the Christmas turkey).  So far the training has been hard work and it's only going to get harded after Christmas, with training increasing to 6 times a week.  goodness gracious!

UPDATE 15.02.10 - I am now training 6 times a week and boy is it hard going!  Yesterday I did 15 miles (which is the longest I've ran so far) and this will steadily increase until the day.  My races so far this year have been a success, these have included a trail race too!  And in a few weeks I'm booking in to do a 20mile race.  eek!  Thank you everyone for your continued support.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.  I will update this page on a regular basis to let you know how training is getting on!
