Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. As some of you are aware by now, we are planning to cycle to Paris for my 30 birthday at the beginning of June. As well as being a personal challenge we are hoping to raise plenty of hard cash along the way and for this we would much appreciate your support.
My chosen charity is the British Transplant Trust. This is something particularly close to my heart as many of you will be aware that my mum was placed on the transplant list for 6 months last year. Fortunately for mum she made a miraculous recovery before a transplant was required but in the face of increasing waiting lists, many are not so lucky. The Transplant Trust is the leading UK Transplant Charity and is responsible for raising awareness and educating the public about the benefits of organ and tissue donation for transplantation. It also carries out research into all aspects of donation and transplantation, in order to improve outcomes and quality of life.
There are over 8,000 people on the transplant waiting list, and every year over 400 die whilst awaiting a transplant. More money is desperately needed to raise awareness and we hope that you can support us in helping this amazing charity to continue to save lives.
