Hi everyone! 

Thank you for taking the time to click, read and donate for my charity, Children In Crisis. This is the first time I have ever left the comfort of my own surroundings to raise awareness and money for a charity. I am used to doing it over the phone!

This crazy lady is taking part in a rigourous bike ride - with 49 other crazy people - from London to Paris in June 2010. It's approximately 300 kms (180 miles), averaging 100 kms (62 miles) a day! I am so excited, but scared to death! I hope I can finish in good health and in one piece!

I chose Children In Crisis because I do believe that every child deserves the right to an education. It was established in 1993 in the UK to give children in some of the world’s poorest countries the education they need to help transform their lives.

Fact: Worldwide, one in six children is denied an education. That's approximately 72 million children to you and me!

At the heart of their work is the belief that education is the best possible route out of poverty, bringing hope for a better future for families, communities and over time, whole societies. Education is paramount.

Children in Crisis’ vision is of a world where all children have access to education to enable them to fulfil their potential to live positive, healthy lives and contribute to the development of the societies in which they live.
