We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Hi All,

Thanks for getting this far by clicking on the link. So, what's it all about?

It's been some three years since we did a big challenge and raised money for charity so decided it was time once again to do something big and to try and raise as much as possible. Many people ask how much? The answer is that any amount is hugely appreciated, however small or large. It all helps.

Why Cancer Research UK? As some of you may know I (Lex) lost my father just before christmas to cancer and Mark (my cousin) lost his mother just after christmas to leukaemia. Simons mum has also recently been battling with cancer, and betwen the 4 of us we have two young friends presently fighting leukaemia. Therefore, we thought it a suitable charity.

Our aim is Lands End to John O'Groats (and a little bit more) in 12 days. The route we are taking is a little unusual in that we are planning to make as many ferry trips as possible along the way. And when we hit Scotland we will head west and do a little island hopping to make it more interesting.

But never fear, our strange route, taking in as many ferries as possible, means that we will take in just over 1000miles (so lengthening the normal route).

And a little bit more..... sticking to the ferry theme we decided that taking the ferry past the Old Man Of Hoy and rolling off into a whisky bar in Stromness (Orkney) was too good to resist.

So thanks once again for getting this far.....

Oh - and as well making a kind donation, please wish us luck as well. Because it will be a massive challenge!!
