Alex has been accepted by Dr Park who is the leading expert in the world, to have a complex operation in America, called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy, which will release the stiffness in his legs and give him permanent flat feet.  This will help him sit, make transitions between postures, and his standing and walking will also improve. The operation has a 100% success rate and Doctors expect Alex will be able to walk properly for the first time which will dramatically improve his standard of living.
