My name is Alex Walker and I recieved my new heart on 26th April 1987 after a brief but serious illness called Cardiomyopethy. This year I will be 28years old thanks to my donor for whom I will be forever gratefull.
I am raising funds with my fellow transplants to purchase a new Organ Care System(OCS) which enables donated organs to
survive in transport for upto three times as long, inreasing the range
of hospitals and patients in need of life saving transplants. We are planning an expedition to climb an active volcano called Mount Cotopaxi in Equador which is 5,897m high. Fundraising will initially be to cover costs of equipment, the remaining funds raised on the expedition, which is called Climbing for my Donor, will go towards paying for a new Organ Care System(OCS).
Any donations will be terrific .
