Story

Whilst this may seem odd to you, and mad to me

I've decided to run a few miles more than the standard three

For comrades unknown and close to my heart

Now that I no longer play my military part

Help for Heroes will benefit most of all

Our school getting a quarter slice of the ball

I'm running in Brighton and wearing customary pink

Shocking of course but what else would you think

I've been training hard up on 'The Plain'

Clocking up the miles; trying to reduce the pain

I've lost some fat, and gained some 'buff'

But fast approaching 40, its gonna be tough

So please dig deep and let go of some cash

I promise to work hard for my 26.3 mile dash

Your money will help to heal a wound or two

Worth 'going without' for a day its true

Your rude messages I can't wait to read

Or any weird requests on attire or deed

I am running the Brighton Marathon on Sunday 18th August to raise money for Help for Heroes (75%) and our School Parent's Association (USPA) (25%) of which I am currently the Chair.  I do hope that you will see your way to sponsoring me in some way.  Although I'm currently intending on running in shocking pink, all additional requests for strange attire will be seriously considered and if possible completed (apart from chicken suits; that's already been done!).  I look forward to hearing from you.
