Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!!  I really hope that you can spare a little time and (hopefully!) a bit of money to help me reach my target of £1250 for the Bishop Simeon Trust. Anything over and above would be incredible, and I would love to raise as much money as possible for the Trust!

To hopefully encourage people to chip in a few pounds, I am running the London Marathon this April!! Slightly foolishly perhaps, given I have yet to run even half of that distance, but I am nervously excited and determined to do it, and in a good time. My target at the  moment is under 4 hours - although with more training that may be revised!

If you have not heard of the BST, then let me say that they are a great charity doing fantastic work in South Africa. In South Africa, there are still millions of people living in severe poverty as a direct result of the Apartheid regime. The Trust focuses on the poorest communities in the country, where AIDS is prevelant and living conditions particularly desperate.

The Trust was founded in 1989 and is named after a black South African bishop who was at the centre of the struggle against repression. The Trust now supports a range of education work, community development initiatives and HIV projects, with a particular emphasis on the most vulnerable, such as AIDS orphans.

Despite the cold and my Christmas belly, training is well under way, and so now I have come around to the fundraising part. If you have read this far, I really hope that you will support me in any way you can, be it through encouragement when I am being lazy, or coming on training runs with me in Durham.
