Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you will know, the MS Society is a charity close to my heart as my dad has suffered from the illness for 25 years.  It is a mysterious disease with no known cause or cure and an unpredictable prognosis.

I've decided to raise money for a specific MS related charity, The Chilterns MS Therapy Centre.  I've seen the work they do first hand and really believe it is a fantastically positive place, yielding tangible results; which is fairly rare for people with MS .  The centre provides non-drug treatments- physio, high density oxygen treatment, acupuncture, amongst others; as well as offering advice and support to people suffering from MS, carers and families across several counties. Dad attends fortnightly physio sessions which I've been to a couple of times with him.  I chatted to the staff as they manipulated his limbs into previously unimagined positions to his obvious benefit; he leaves feeling invigorated.

The therapies they provide, their ethos and their impact on people's lives is great; their home however, is not.  You'll find the centre in the back corner of a bleak, largely deserted army barracks at RAF Halton, just outside Wendover in Buckinghamshire.  It is housed in a temporary building, long since passed its best.  The site has been sold to property developers who have thankfully included a space for the centre in their project.  This means, with some fierce fundraising, the Chilterns MS Therapy Centre will have a swanky new building providing more rooms for treatment and consultation and more equipment.  This will allow them to do what they do best, but bigger and better.

You can see before and after pictures if you click through the photos here and find out about the centre on their website.

I would be enormously grateful for your support in supporting them.  This is my first half marathon and I want my sweat and tears to be WORTH AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!

Thank you.
