Thanks for visiting my fundraising page, all you lovely generous people are now just one step away from helping me reach my goal of raising £3,000 for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home!
Why? I hear you cry - Battersea is a fantastic charity taking in around 12,000 dogs and cats every year to either be reunited with their owners or rehomed.
The Trek - If I succeed in raising the minimum sponsorship of £3,000, I will be joining 12 other people on a gruelling 7-day trek dog sledding in the Arctic in Feb 2010!
For those of you that know me, physical exertion has never been high on my list of favourite things. But, for such a great cause and as it is a fantastic opportunity, I am willing to endure bone chilling sub-zero temperatures of between -5 and -35 degrees, sledding up to 60kms a day and of course, most importantly - learning how to sled with up to 6 Alaskan huskies on my own!
Each day will start at the crack of dawn, feeding the dogs before packing up their beds and organising them for a day of sledding. But, I won't be sitting back letting the dogs do all the hard work - the harsh terrain will be a huge daily obstacle, often requiring me to run alongside the dogs assisting them to tackle the frozen hills and icy ditches that will come our way!
Please dig deep, every single pound will be well spent. Just £25 will feed over 50 dogs for one day, so just imagine what £3,000 could achieve!
