Story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.
Those who know us realise this will be a great challenge for us, we are confirmed petrol heads who both have cars and motorbikes...we havent walked for years, our training program has started and we have both already put in £200 each of our own money and hope to afford to donate even more!
we have pledges already from family and work colleagues but we are hoping you can help us to acheive our goals and help a worthwhile charity too.
We have organised a charity/sponsored ride out on July 30th, starting in Luton at Hein Gerricke and ending at the Ace Cafe London for all of you like minded motorbike enthusiasts.
It is a point to point and should be a great day out,the registration fee is only £10 per bike, if you would be intrested in that too please email us to let us know on sensual_mermaid@hotmail.com
So far all of the dealerships involved have been very generous with their time and contributions. LLoyd Coopers of Watford have donated gift vouchers for raffle prizes and Moores of Hemel Hempstead have promised service vouchers, all this even though they are not stops on the point to point!!! Other raffle prizes include: various motorbike kits and models, a radio controlled 8th scale Ducati, which actually leans around corners, an england signature football (printed), a set of 3 books from California Superbike School by the legendary Keith Code ( twist of the wrist 1 and 2 and the soft science of motorcycle road racing) plus more prizes to be confirmed. The day includes a competition which the prize for the winner is worth at least £100 and a trophey, plus the first 200 registered riders recieve a free gift....hurry and register, time is running out!! I will update this page after the event to let everyone know how much was raised.
The 1st annual 'Ali's 'Ace' rideout' was a resounding success, although only 32 bikers took part we managed to raise a staggering £1120.00!!!!! The competition winner raised £250.00 and won the trophey and a moto gp scalextric set and a t.shirt the event was so good that i have been asked to do one every year!!! big thanks to all the dealers who made it possible, and the riders for being able to follow my directions and actually arrive at The Ace Cafe...see you all next year.
Although our initail target is £2,600.00 each we would like to achieve far more with your help. This is a challenging 5 day trek, in temperatures of 35 degrees and climbing 2 dormant volcanos...this as well as spiders makes for a huge challenge!!! please help.
Our training is ongoing and, not being walkers, fairly intense.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me:
Scope will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
JUST A QUICK NOTE ON SPONSORSHIP, THE SPONSORSHIP MONEY HAS TO BE IN BEFORE THE CHALLENGE HAS TAKEN PLACE, BY 5TH DECEMBER 2005. I AM AFRAID THIS MEANS ONLY DONATE NOW IS APPLICABLE, THANKS So please sponsor us now! Many thanks for your support. Ali and Holly
