Story
Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page! You may think - not another one in the space of 2 months! But this time I am asking if you would read the story below and consider sponsoring a fabulous team of runners, The Georgettes and Foxy Ferrets, as they seek to raise money for CLIC Sargeant.
The running bug has clearly hit our village and a group of lovely friends and I are running the Classic Quarter Lizard to Lands End race on 8th June. It is a 45+ mile race run on the rather hilly coastal path of Cornwall. We are running as three relay teams - each person taking on a section of about 12 miles. Most of the team have never run a long distance race and in 2 months of training have pushed themselves from 3 mile jogs across the beach to 10 or 11 mile off road trail runs. They are amazing. Even more amazing are a family in our village whose boy should have started school with our children this year - but has only just been able to join his class because he has spent the last 10 months undergoing intensive treatment for leukemia. The team are running to raise money for CLIC Sargeant - a charity who have been a great support to this family. We want to raise money as a team so if this is a cause close to your heart please sponsor the girls - Jackie, Lottie, Jacs, Rachel, Ellie, Liz, Helen, Flic, Nikki (plus a couple of boys we roped in to make the 3rd team).
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So, thank you for taking the time to read this and, if you feel you can, for sponsoring the Georgettes and Foxy Ferrets.
