Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was inspired to swim the Great North Swim last year by a friend at work who had done it the year before. I was a competitive swimmer in my youth and had not swam seriously for many years. As a result of the swim last year I have renewed my love of swimming and am doing it again this year (1 mile in Windermere on 4th September). My training has been knocked back a bit over the winter but I hope to better last year's time of 31mins 31secs. I have decided to use the 2010 swim to raise money for Cleveland Search and Rescue Team. As a family we spend a lot of time outdoors and so appreciate the valuable work the Search and Rescue Teams do - fortunately we have not had to call on their services to date.
Update:
I am now planning on doing the Great Scottish Swim too, another mile, this one in Strathclyde Country Park on 21st August.
