The Railway Children - Three Peaks Challenge by Rail · 25 June 2009 ·

Railway Children has a vision of a world in which no child is lost to the streets. Across the UK, India and Tanzania, our networks provide an opportunity for us to reach children who are alone and vulnerable before they come to serious harm. Together, we’re determined we’ll leave no child behind.

Story

Andrew, David and Ali are taking part in the THREE PEAKS CHALLENGE BY RAIL, June 25-27, 2009 in aid of the Railway Children. This involves climbing the highest peaks in Wales, England and Scotland - Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis, in 36 hours, with the teams being transported between mountains by train. This truly is a challenge for each of us – the organisers say it’s the equivalent of 3 half marathons with little or no sleep! We ARE working on our fitness!

The Railway Children is an excellent charity. It provides shelter, food, clothing and education to homeless children living on railways in India, Africa and the UK, with a particular focus on early intervention for recent runaways. Those of you who have seen Slumdog Millionaire will be aware of the dire conditions in which these kids exist.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's the most efficient way to sponsor us: If you're a UK taxpayer Justgiving adds 25% in Gift Aid plus a 3% supplement to your donation - so don't forget to tick the box!

A huge thank you from the three of us, and from The Railway Children, for your support.
