Story
Thank you for visting my fund-raising page.
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK, with nearly 46,000 women diagnosed every year - and I was one of them. Breakthrough Breast Cancer is the leading charity committed to fighting this terrible disease through research, campaigning, and education.
The charity works tirelessly to improve our understanding of breast cancer and promote education and awareness among the public, policy-makers and health professionals. In partnership with the Institute of Cancer Research, the Charity opened the UK's first dedicated breast cancer research centre in 1999.
I am lucky to have benefitted from this reseach - and I am sure that many of you will know others for whom the Charity's work has been all too important.
In return, I have decided to do something that would take an equal amount of dedication - the London Marathon. In doing so, I hope to raise as much money as possible for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. The money raised will help scientists in their effort to find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat breast cancer in the hope that we can take another step towards a future free of breast cancer for our children.
In return for my commitment to run, I am asking you to donate as much as you feel you can through my personal website. Donating this way is fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me; Breakthrough Breast Cancer will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please dig deep and help me make a difference!
