We are proud to be supporting local childrens charity SAFE@LAST that play an essential role in helping vulnerable children aged 16 years old and under at risk through running away within the South Yorkshire region. They work in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham, Sheffield, North East Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire.
Unfortutely, there are many reasons why children feel they have no choice but to runaway and flee violence, abuse and bullying or because they have been thrown out from home.
SAFE@LAST provide a range of highly regarded services including the only childrens refuge for runaway children in England - there are just 2 bed spaces and SAFE@LAST provides them locally.
One of their key services is the 24 hour freephone childrens helpline that can be accessed via the telephone, text message or web chat. This service has been running since 2004. As its an exisiting service, it is difficult to seek grant funding to ensure it continues long into the future so therefore the charity needs to raise voluntary income in order to fund this vital service. By supporting SAFE@LAST, we can help ensure they can continue to fund their range of important services, like the helpline, in order to keep local children safe.

SAFE@LAST aims to:
1. Reduce the number of young people who resort to running away as a solution or a response to issues in their lives.
2. Reduce the numbers of repeat runaway incidences
3. Increase young people’s confidence and empower them to make a change in their lives.
4. Increase young people’s knowledge of the wide range of support services available and how to access them to begin to build their own resource network
5. Offer independent support and services to young people at risk through running away
6. Recognise and meet the needs of these young people.
7.Develop creativity and innovation in order to be best placed to keep vulnernable runaways safe.
