Story

Not sure how to write this, especially through tear-stained eyes, however, here goes :

My darling Ali - your friend, relative or acquaintance; my beautiful & courageous wife - finally lost her battle against cancer and passed away on Monday 25th August, 2008.

Unfortunately, it was not unexpected, as we had been told by her Oncologist, Prof Michael Brada at the Royal Marsden several months before that her brain tumour had again taken hold & that she only had a limited time left with us. On the positive side (if there can be one) she had been in no need of any pain relief & passed peacefully at home in SW19 with myself, her parents Alan & Pat & her two sisters Sue & Clare all by her bedside.

There will be a Celebration / Thanksgiving service on Saturday 20th September, 2008 at 2:00pm at All Saints Church, Milford on Sea, Hants. to which everyone is welcome.

In the meantime - I know a lot of people have already generously donated to my Charity Swim earlier this year, but instead of flowers, I'm asking again for donations, no matter how small, to The Royal Marsden, where they will be automatically directed to the Brain Tumour research fund if made via this website.

If you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, is added to your donation. They will also levy a 3% supplement, to cover their administration costs. Therefore if you prefer, monies can be sent direct to myself or any of the Haynes family, payable to the Royal Marsden where we’ll ensure they are sent on.

Thanks again for your support, financial, emotional & sometimes liquid ! Just remember to keep a place in your heart, as I always will, for a beautiful person who was taken from us far too soon...

R xx
