Asics British 10K London Run · 6 July 2008 ·

Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM) is a rare lung disease that only occurs in women. It affects just over one woman in a million. We are a self-help group providing support for patients with LAM and raise money for vital research - it is often difficult to obtain money for research into a rare disease.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

I'll be running the British 10K London Run in July and hope to raise money for Lam Action - a charity which provides support and research into Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM), a rare lung disease that effects mainly women.

A friend of mine was diagnosed with LAM. There is no cure and in severe cases the only hope is a lung transplant. In just 2 years I watched her health deteriorate to such an extent that she lost all independence, struggled with eating and even found it difficult to hold a conversation. Finally 3 months ago she had a double lung transplant and is recovering well. For information on LAM Action and it's aims, you can visit the website at http://www.lamaction.org/

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: LAM Action will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
