Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK. We love all dogs, and the people who love dogs too. We care for dogs in need through our network of 22 centres across the UK and Ireland, finding them loving new homes. A dog is for Life, not just for Christmas ©

Story

Wow, what an amazing experience!  Back in one piece and with loads and loads of amazing photos, which if you don't want to endure over the coming weeks, probably best to avoid me!!

A huge thank you to Sally (Undiscovered Alps) and Philippe (my guide), Sally for organising everything and for being as excited about the trip as me, and Philippe for making my experience with his dogs so so amazing, I just didn't imagine they would be so affectionate (especially my favourite in the photo) and to feed and harness and just sit with them made the experience something I will never forget.  Shouldn't forget Thomas either, poor guy with some weird English woman that couldn't ski, jumping off a mountain with him, still I guess not many people can claim they have touched a cloud..!!

Blimey, this feels like the Oscars, but also a big thank you so much for all the help in fundraising for this challenge.

Billie is slowly but surely forgiving me for coming home smelling of other doggies, he was fine until I started to unpack and then major sulks..!!

I am still collecting sponsorship even though i'm back so not too late :-)

My challenge - 25th and 26th January 2009:

Day 1 - Together with my guide and musher (and the dogs obviously), I will go by dog sled up to a remote plateau (approx 2450m) where I will build my igloo for the night.  Sleeping and eating in the igloo with the dogs outside for the night.

Day 2 -  Continue by dog sled for some of the way and then finish on snowshoes up to the col du Freissinieres.  The col is 2782m.  At the col I will meet my paragliding instructor and together we will jump off the col and paraglide back down to the ski lift.

Piece of cake....!!!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Dogs Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please dig deep and sponsor me now!
