Story
Last summer I saw the amazing work of Hospice in the Weald as they cared for Susan and Chris Suart - 2 close family friends. The charity's work is phenomenal and deserves all the support possible to continue to operate in the community.
As part of my fundraising ambitions, I organised a concert in Tonbridge which included 20 cellists, 1 singer and lots of generous audience members; from which we raised £1060! Sneaking in at the back were 3 fold-up Brompton bikes and their riders, hence when I heard they were cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats in aid of the Hospice (www.smallwheelsbigdifference.org) I became a very keen supporter.
However, after a while you realise that you just have to do your bit and sit in the saddle!
I'll therefore be joining in for a day on a spare Brompton, cycling more than 50 miles from Kilmarnock to Loch Lomond in Scotland for day 11 of their trip. The longest bike ride I'll have done, certainly with the most hills, hence the painful training has already begun!
Thank you ever so much therefore for your support for this great charity. You can follow all of us on the team (inc. the boys doing the whole 1000 miles!) at www.smallwheelsbigdifference.org to hear about our aches and pains, including me on 26th June in Scotland. We're doing our bit to keep this wonderful organisation going, and I will complete this ride in memory of Susan and Chris.
Thank you!
