As well as raising money in memory of mum, I will be embarking on the odd 'challenge' in mum's memory, inspired by her determination to be Alive and Kicking right up until her final weeks. This all started on 15th August 2008 when mum decided to hold an Alive and Kicking party combined with a charity walk. Sadly she was too tired to enjoy the garden party as she would have liked, but nonetheless stubbornly insisted we go ahead even though she was confined to her bed!
Mum died 2 weeks after the party, we joke that she is probably one of the few people to have attended their own wake! There are two Alive and Kicking pages to choose from. This one supports UNICEF, mum's favorite charity. The other is NET Patient Foundation, a charity raising awareness of cancers such as carcinoid (www.justgiving.com/alivekicking)
