Thanks for taking the time out to visit my JustGiving  fundraising page. I have signed up to do my first hiking challenge this Christmas and New Year and really need your help!

It's called Hike4Life Winter 2009 in Uganda. It's a climbing expedition to summit two remarkable mountains in Eastern Uganda (25th December 2009 - 3rd January 2010). The hike is to raise money for Focus Humanitarian Assistance (FOCUS). 

I'm asking you to put fingers to keyboard and to dig deep to donate as much as you feel you can to this great cause.

With your generosity, support and help along with my new hiking boots and lots of hard work - we can really make a difference!! 

So what's FOCUS? Why raise money for it?

It is an international crisis response and disaster risk management agency that provides emergency relief and support services to communities suffering from natural and man-made disasters. 

FOCUS aims to save lives, reduce suffering and provide support in the immediate aftermath of a natural or man-made disaster e.g. hurricanes, cyclones, avalanches, tsunamis, flooding, earthquakes and civil conflict. They have developed a risk management approach, with disaster risk reduction measures at the core.
