Livability creates choices for disabled people and brings life to local communities. We offer a wide range of services to around 8,000 disabled people and their families, including residential care, supported living, education and accessible holidays. We also provide churches with the resources, advice and confidence to transform their neighbourhoods. Livability is a new charity, created by the merger of John Grooms and the Shaftesbury Society, two charities which have been hard at work among the UK's most marginalised people for over 160 years.

My story

"I am loving every horrible moment of this."

Despite swearing on a stack of bibles (and in very colourful language) never to run another marathon, I find that I now am. So Coach (aka Ian Storie) and I (that's us pair of idiots to the left) are pounding the pavements between Maroubra and Watsons Bay on a regular basis so we can torture ourselves one more time.

But we need your help. Rather than just doing it for ourselves, we're doing it for those who can't. So we're raising funds for Livability - see their box at the left for all the good work that they do.
