Story
Dublin Marathon - 27th October 2008
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I did it!!! I'm extremely pleased to say that I completed the Marathon and it was under the 4 hour target.
It suddenly hit me last October that if I was going to make the goal that I set at the young and foolish age of 18 that I really needed to start considering it. At the end of the day how difficult could it be?
The goal I set for myself was to complete a Marathon before I am 40 (What was I thinking?) and at the same time do something for a very worthy cause.
Anyone who has seen me recently will know my injury woes, the limp is a bit of a give away, and I now realise that completing a marathon is not as simple as I first believed. If it wasn't for the wonderful Elizabeth (my NHS Physio) i'm sure that my string of injuries would have rendered completing this impossible.
The current goals are (Not necessarily in priority order - You know the main one John!!)
Raise as much money as I can for Brainwave
Complete the run.
Complete the run in under 4 Hours
Beat Mr Horncastle (I'll never hear the end of it if I don't, due to me opening my big mouth over the last year) - John is also raising money for charity, so please sponsor him as well.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy (Unlike the Marathon) and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Brainwave gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
