My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. My good pal and running buddy Lauren and I are running the Chicago Marathon for GIST Support UK.
We have started training and are working hard to ensure we do the cause proud!
Since Tom's mum Gill has been diagnosed with GIST, this rare illness has come on my radar and I really wanted to do something to support the charity that can provide support to it's sufferers and raise some awareness. We will not be winning the marathon, but we hope to atleast finish and if we are raising money for the cause it will motiate us greatly!

Thanks you so much for all your kind words and pennies. We finished with a pb (for me!) of 4 hours 17 minutes, coming 16,0001 out of over 37,000 so didnt come last which was good! It really has been such a great response so thank you all. X

GIST Support UK works to help patients and families affected by GIST - a rare cancer. It runs an email list and meetings to provide the opportunity to talk to each other, and hear about and discuss aspects of treatment with health professionals. More about the charity at www.gistsupportuk.com.
