Our best friend Amanda died on 22nd July 2008 after a very brave fight against Cancer. Amanda was an amazing person, funny, caring and a fantastic friend. We miss her every single day.
I ran the Marathon last year and Amanda made the effort to come and watch despite being poorly. Alice also came to watch, and rather foolishly she may now think, entered the Marathon within hours of watching me finish, promising Amanda if she got a place she would run it for her. Sadly we didn't realise how poignant our promise would be.
We are going to be sporting red tutus and head-dresses to make sure we draw attention to ourselves and we want to raise a huge amount of money in memory of Amanda and everything that she fought for and left behind. It will be a hugely emotional day but we know that we are running it with her in our hearts the whole way round.
Please, please help us thrash our fundraising target and make Amanda and her family proud of us.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
