UPDATE 21ST JUNE 2010

We did it !! :-) Melanie, Amy and I ran the race for life on Saturday 19th June. Thank you so much to everyone who sponsored us.....

 As a group we are raising money for Cancer Research but I am also raising some much needed funds for Mesothelioma UK.

I was shocked to be diagnosed with breast cancer last July. I was even more shocked when, on the same day, my Dad was diagnosed with mesothelioma, an aggressive lung cancer caused by asbestos exposure

Daddy and I started our treatment journey together, even having chemotherapy on the same day each 3 weeks. We were determined to stay positive and support each other.

It quickly became clear that although there are many treatment options and a positive outlook for breast cancer patients, the outlook for those with mesothelioma is a very different story. Average survival time from diagnosis is  just 7 months and treatment options are minimal.

I received excellent treatment and am recovering well. My wonderful Dad received fantastic care but lost his fight for life on 19th April 2010.

I am raising this money so that future sufferers of mesothelioma get  more treatment options and even greater support. I hope that one day they find a cure for this terrible cancer.
