At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I made it to the summit at 6.45am on Thursday 1st March 2012!!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH  :o)

...............................................................................................................

On 23rd Feb 2012 I will be starting a trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the highest freestanding mountain on earth and at 19,345 ft (5,895m) higher than Everest base camp. At that height there is only 50% of the normal amount of oxygen, so it will be the toughest challenge I have ever done. The statistics are scary, 33% of people attempting the ascent don't make it to the summit plus there are between 10-15 fatalities per year! So I don’t know if I will make it, but I am determined to try my hardest and in the process raise lots of money for Alzheimer's Society.

So please dig deep and donate now, any amount, no matter how small would be gratefully received. Give me the motivation to climb that hill!

Kind regards,

Amanda x
