*********UPDATE********* This page is now for The Great North Run on 18th September 2011.
As some of you know that due to picking up a hairline tibia injury with less than five weeks to go, I have had to withdraw from the Edinburgh Marathon for 2011... but I'll be back for 2012.
However please note that I have a coveted place in the GREAT NORTH RUN on 18TH SEPTEMBER 2011 and ALL donations will still be in support of the Amani Children's Home in Tanzania, Africa.
Next February we will be visiting Amani to see for ourselves, the amazing work that they do before starting our climb up Mt. Kilimanjaro.
The problem of homeless children in Tanzania is growing daily due to one of the world's poorest economies, HIV/AIDS and weakening family ties. While trying to survive on the streets, children regularly face hunger, sickness and abuse. Without someone to rescue them, they have no hope for the future.
Since 2001 Amani Children's Home has been committed to rescuing street children and orphans and providing a nurturing place for them to heal, grow and learn. The aim is to reunite children with their relatives when possible and create a path for each child that leads to a future filled with hope.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please please dig as deep as you can and donate now.
Many thanks and very best wishes.
Jon
