KENYA, OUR MOTHERLAND
Kenya, the abundant.
I shall cherish the country till the day I die.
With mountains so high they reach the sky,
With prairies where green grass grows.
Wild game parks with creatures flourishing below.
Kenya our motherland,
Once Bustling busy boisterous towns
Turned into blundering bloody frowns.
A country once revered amongst its peers,
Now their children are clinging to its bosom, please allay their tears.
Tears of innocent lives lost in vain
Thousands more lie in excruciating pain.
Another family destroyed, another family displaced.
This is far too much punishment for the great human race
Torn apart like a ravaging bulldog feasting upon its prey
Treated like animals with deep malicious affray.
For those who lay down their weapons, the hillsides blushed
For those fighting for democracy, morals were flushed.
Killed in a game called Politics’
Alleviating from the land, fun fuelled frolics.
Arise Africa and the world as one,
Every father, Daughter, Mother and Son.
Break the hand that betrays your trust
In a peaceful rebellion like an eagle in full thrust.
BELIEVE, we are like tea bags,
Not realising our strength until we are in hot water
Crisis upon crisis have taken us to the precipice
But together we can make this tragedy much shorter.
Nothing will stop this small anecdote.
For tomorrow we dream, brings peace, prosperity and eternal hope.
We make an appeal to all those of you who think of Kenya as home or have a connection to it somehow, or just want to support this cause, to join us in raising money to help the Kenya Crisis Appeal. Through this official charity channel we can make a positive difference.
