Story
Please spare a few minutes to read this appeal on behalf a very special cause.
On 16th April 2008 2-year-old Phoebe Macaskill from Inverness, Scotland was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, stage 4, the most serious form of a rare and aggressive childhood cancer.
Neuroblastoma has its own specialist treatment that is different from any treatment undergone by anyone else you know who has had cancer. Despite intensive courses of chemotherapy and often initial success in treating the disease, the child often relapses, making this one of the most lethal of all childhood cancers.
Phoebe has embarked upon an intensive course of treatment, involving surgery, high dose chemotherapy, radiotherapy and differentiation treatment. As the likelihood of relapse is high, future privately funded treatment cannot be ruled out. Private treatment is very expensive with the best hope often being the Sloane-Kettering Memorial Hospital in New York.
This means that the family needs to start fundraising now to give Phoebe the very best chance of a full recovery.

How we can help
Most of us won't know Phoebe or her family personally - I stumbled across her appeal by chance through the work of the 2 Simple Trust. Nevertheless, I hope you can help me to help Phoebe get the best possible chance of a full recovery.
Even without knowing her, on reading about Phoebe's appeal, I was so touched by this beautiful, brave little girl that I wanted to do something, however insignificant it may be, to help.
On October 5 2008 I will be running The Great North Run, followed by the Amsterdam Marathon on the 19 October, raising money for Phoebe along the way.
This is where I need your help. My target is to raise £1,000 for Phoebe's Appeal, not much in the grand scheme of things, but every little helps. So, please help me hit my target by sponsoring me using the 'Sponsor Me Now' link below.
Everything penny will help Phoebe gets what she needs, when she needs it.
Many thanks for reading this request and supporting what I believe to be a very worthwhile cause.
