Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

I am walking from Heysham port to Longlands hotel between Carforth and Kirby Lonsdale on the 11th August 2012, starting at 9am.

Recently, my Grandad died from Parkinson's disease, My family and I spent a week by his bedside watching him worsen until he eventually died, It was the most awful thing I have experienced watching someone I love dearly wilt away like he did. He was a wonderful man and I am doing this walk with my sister and best friend in his memory to raise money for others diagnosed with the disease and they will hopefully one day find a cure! My sister, Emily is raising money for Alzhimers research UK, as Grandad also had this and Kelly's Nanna did many years ago before she died.

My best friend Kelly, is walking for Tommy's baby charity in memory of her baby girl, she lost in March due to a rare pregnancy complication- HELLP syndrome. Please support them both.

Thank you. :-)
