Update: 3/6/2013
My Dad has now sadly passed away. He died on Sunday 2nd June (on his 64th birthday) in the hospice. I honestly don't know how any of us would've coped if the support from the hospice wasn't there during this time. They made him as comfortable as possible and we were all there. This makes me so much more determined (if I could be any more) to raise as MUCH as possible for the hospice. Every little really does help. Thank you x

Many of those who know me, will know that my dear Dad was diagnosed with peritoneal mesothelioma cancer (a rare vicious type caused by the inhalation of asbestos) last May. The outlook at the start was extremely grim, with him given just weeks to live. However, one year on, he's still just about hanging on in there, and some of the hardest times have been made easier thanks to the Saint Francis hospice. He is now an inpatient at the hospice, where they give him the dignity he needs during whatever time he may have left. The care and facilities they provide have been second to none, so therefore me and my sister, Bev, would love to give something back.
Considering we're both glutinous pigs, we couldn't manage a marathon, so a fun walk is the next best thing! It's taking place on July 6th and we couldn't be more up for it! Please spare whatever you can, it really is going to such a fantastic charity.
