Cardiac Risk in the Young Verified by JustGiving
RCN 1050845 (England & Wales), SC052581 (Scotland)
Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

My best friend Leanne Haddrell died on the 1st May 2008.  It was a huge shock not only to her family, but to all her friends as well.  It was found that she had a rare form of glandular fever which then triggered acute myocarditis. No-one can believe that someone so fit and healthy had suddenly died.

Leanne always lived life to the full and has shown us that we need to do the same.  Lisa and I are doing the 8 bridge walk (which represents each of 8 young apparently fit and healthy people that die each week from heart defects), to help raise awareness for CRY as Leanne was such a good friend to us.

We have already reached our target which was £200, so we've set ourselves another goal of £400. Anything you choose to donate will be greatly appreciated.
