Sing if You Wanna Beat Cancer · 19 January 2013

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

My story:

My name is Amy, im 19, and I was diagnosed with cancer in November 2012. Everyday in the UK 6 young people like me are told the devastating news they have cancer. It can be the loneliest diagnosis in the world, especially at a younger age, when it's rare. But with the help of the teenage cancer trust we don't have to feel alone, there are people like me that they have allowed me to meet at their speciallist young adult unit. I've already had two operations, and am currently undergoing chemo. Luckily, I recieve my chemo with other young people at the teenage cancer trust centre. I'm not stuck in either a childrens or older persons ward. I have time to relate to and have fun with people around my age. They really are a fantastic charity, so please help me raise some money!

The concert which my friends and I are holding is called "Sing if You Wanna Beat Cancer" and will be taking place on the 5th of June. I should be able to raise £1500 from the concert alone, but why stop there?
