Post marathon update: I successfully completed the London marathon in a time of 4 hours 8 minutes and with your help managed to raise a total of £4000 for HEART UK.
It really was an incredible experience, the crowds were amazing and I was on such a high for the first half I thought I‘d be able to run forever. By about mile 20 I had decided I never wanted to run another step again but thinking of Dad and everyone who has so generously sponsored me helped keep me going and it was great to finally cross the finish line after all those months of training.
Still having trouble walking downstairs but it was definitely worth it and I would recommend that you all have a go one day. I promise to sponsor any of you who take up the challenge. Special thanks goes to Lynn, Kate, Steph, Mum, Mike, Rich, Clare, Heidi, Reuben, Jolie, Connie, Clare, Ian and Chris for coming down to support me on the day, sorry I didn’t get to see you all!On April 13th 2008 I will be running the London Marathon in memory of my Dad. Dad was one of the fittest, most active guys I have ever known and would always be at the gym or out running. It was a huge shock to everyone who knew him when he died suddenly from a heart attack at just 54. This is why I have chosen to raise money for HEART UK a charity dedicated to preventing premature deaths caused by high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease. I would be really grateful for any donation you can give me - it will be a real incentive to keep up all the training I’m going to be doing over the next few months Thanks for your support!
