We conduct world class medical research projects. We diagnose and treat thousands of people with epilepsy every year. We do this and much more. We are the UK’s national medical epilepsy charity. With Epilepsy Society, you don’t have to deal with epilepsy alone.

Story

Myself and three friends, Claire Davis, Anne-Marie Fisher and Pauline Walker will be doing the trek. Details can be found on our website|:   http://theamymarsdenmemorialfund.thechallengenetwork.com/

After Amy died of Sudden Unexplained Death due to Epilepsy (SUDEP) in April 2013 at the age of 21, a friend of hers set up a Justgiving page in her memory with a target of £500 for the Epilepsy Society, within 4 weeks it raised just under £3000. We would like very much to raise money for this worthwhile charity, as Amy herself did. The reason we have chosen this challenge is simply that Amy’s grandmother, Jackie, did not achieve her wish to see the Great Wall before her sudden death sixteen years ago and Amy promised me, that in memory of my Mum, we would go together before I was 60. Doing this trek, in memory of both of them and raising money for a charity that was dear to Amy makes it doubly important to us.
