I have now completed the Bupa Great Manchester 10km Run and can't quite believe I have finished it! It was definitely a challenge as I have only ever done a 5k run 2 years ago! I managed to complete it in 1h 8mins and the Macmillan supporters around the course were great and really spurred us on!

This year I am running in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support who are a great charity, who have helped my family and other close friends so they are a charity close to my heart. They help improve the lives of people living with cancer and their families and carers. "1 in 3 of us will get cancer and we are all affected".

Macmillan fund nurses and other specialist health care professionals and build cancer care centres, but they give so much more than medical help. They also provide practical support at home, emotional support, and financial help to cope with the extra costs cancer can bring so they are a vital lifeline for many families.
