hi folks, Hope you've had a festive holiday period, with a spring in your step for this new year. But for some of us it may be a bit trickier to get started. At least that goes for my training efforts, but all the more reason for me to round up some support from my friends! Thanks guys, you're all lovely!! :) So I'm running the silverstone half marathon again this year on the 9th of march. If you don't know of my first efforts last year, the conditions were ridiculous. Image this - running on an open race course, where there is no coverage, raging winds, killer ouch hail stones darting at you horizontally, thunderstorms, with just a dash of sunshine to jazz it up a bit. I could not feel my fingers for half the race, and had to duck into the toilets half way thru just to de-freeze them - I'm not kidding! But its a new year, the pain is but a distant memories and I'm up for the challenge to run it in 2hours. My chosen charity is envision. My housemate Jen works there and she's a complete gem and inspiration. She works ever so tiresomely and I am inspired by the work that they do. It is a small charity who work throughout greater london and birmingham. They work in 90 schools to empower young people to realise their capacity and make a difference by creating social and environmental projects. I wish I'd had been more encourage when I was in school, but alas, these are my efforts. | Thanks so much for visiting my page. I would love it if you could help sponsor me online. I know the purse strings can be a bit tight post xmas and sales shopping, but any amount would help and be much appreciated.
Donating through this site is really easy and secure. I really hate asking people for money, but knowing that its going to make a wider outreaching difference makes it a-ok. Best thing is that sponsoring me online means that if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Nice! n.b. I'll most likely be organising some fundraising evenings/afternoon tea's also - so stay tuned.
thanks again guys, http://www.envision.org.uk/ |
