Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On September 24th 2010, I will be taking part in the Yorkshire Cancer Centre Challenge to walk the Great Wall of China. This is part of a campaign to raise £10 million.

Throughout my career I have been very privelidged to have access to company funds and donate to charities that have sent me a letter with a just cause. Whilst I have given money willingly it has been very easy to do and a simple task. For the last few years I have been self employed and not in such a position to donate large monies, but have given my support to many fundraising events.

Having been approached to take on this challenge for The Yorkshire Cancer Centre I jumped at the chance. Raising a minimum of £2,800 is a challenge in itself and one that takes a lot of hard work and organising through many fundraising events. My plan for the next six months is very rigorous and involves the support from family, friends and the local community. I make no apologies for bullying, pressurising or simply nagging including going for a Sunday walk.

The fitness programme that I must now start is the next challenge, however I have been supported by my client, The Academy Health Club, who have put together a fitness schedule and is kindly sponsoring my training, which is more than an hour on a treadmill!

However, having recently had an article in the local press I have received a letter from a lady who is recovering from cancer and enclosed a cheque for £5.00, wishing me all the best in my fundraising and apologising she could not give more. It brought tears to my eyes and was a very emotional moment and really showed what a difference I could make to many lives.

So through your support and kindness in your donation we can all make a big, big difference to those who really need it.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Many, many thanks,

Andrea
