Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. In a moment of sheer insanity we have committed ourselves to cycling 300km across Jordan in the blazing Middle Eastern heat.  If that alone does not make us certifiable then the fact that we are two sisters with a combined age of 85 and neither of us own a bike, or indeed have ridden one for the best part of 20 years, must render us totally insane. In addition, we have the small obstacle that we have committed ourselves to raising our target of £5000 by July –ARRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!

What you may ask would possibly make us want to put ourselves through this? Well we are doing this for Professor Winston’s ‘women for women’ Charity which will support women scientists and clinicians - empowering more women to lead in this field. They will work in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a range of devastating conditions, which cause cancer, miscarriage, infertility and genetic diseases such as cystic fibrosis or muscular dystrophy. Their fundamental aim is to improve women's ongoing good health throughout their lives and to ensure that more women have a normal pregnancy with a healthy baby.
