Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I have dusted off my running shoes and will be taking part in the Great North Run - the world's biggest half-marathon - for the third time this year, and am really looking forward to the challenge once again. It is a real buzz to take part in this famous race and i'm really excited about it! My cheering spectator party (aka Ade) will be accompanying me again and hopefully the weather and atmosphere will be as good as it has been previously.

This year I will be raising money for the Miscarriage Association who have been a great support to me personally in 2008, following our two losses.

Miscarriage can be a frightening and distressing experience and the money raised will help this charity to give advice, information and support to those effected by pregnancy loss. They also help fund research into the causes of miscarriage. Believe me, this is a fantastic charity who help many people through a very lonely and emotional time and without them many people effected by the loss of a baby would have no-one to turn to.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Miscarriage Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

Thanks everyone

Andie

UPDATE 03-10-2008: Well the big day is nearly here! My preparation has not been as I'd hoped after a torn calf and 5 weeks of physio but the important thing is that I have recovered sufficiently to be able to attempt the course on Sunday - albeit very slowly!! Thank you all for your support and sponsorship.

UPDATE 06-10-2008: I made it!! Took me 2hrs31 mins so quite slow by my standards but calf is fine and I managed to keep running the whole way with no stops - not bad considering my lack of training!! It was very hard and i had to push myself after my knees seized up at 6 miles and i was wondering if i was going to make it. But, I managed to hobble through to the end! Thank you all so much.
