RBLR 1000 miles within 24 hours Challenge.

After supporting the RBLR (Royal British Legion Riders)1000 Mile event in the past I have decided to enter the event this year raising money for LAA and RBLR. The ride starts on 23rd June finish on 24th June, I will need to be up there on Friday 22nd for registration.

I will be riding my Suzuki GSXR1000 motorbike and those of you who are familiar with bikes will know this in itself will be a challenge! The bike is not the ideal bike for long distance riding and my body will soon be screaming out in pain, but no pain no gain. I'm up for the challenge!

The ride starts in Leeds, there is a North & South route which can be done clockwise or anti-clockwise, stopping at various checkpoints as proof of being there. The routes cover over 1000 miles and finish back at Leeds.

My chosen route is the North, Anti-clockwise:

1. Squires Cafe-Leeds. Start time 5am

2. Berwick Upon Tweed

3. Edinburgh

4. Wick

5. Fort William

6. Birch Services (Manchester)

7. Leeds - Finish

I will have a Tracker fitted to the bike so you will be able to follow my every move. I will add the link nearer the time so keep your eyes peeled.

Link will be 'live' on Friday 22nd June

Completing will also allow me to be classed as an Iron Butt Rider opening up the doors for me to take on even bigger challenges.

I have chosen London's Air Ambulance as my main charity as this is something I hold close to my heart. If it wasn't for their speed and expertise at the road side, close friends involved in accidents would have lost their lives. The LAA relies on donations to keep it in the air, if it wasn't for people like us then we would not have the urgent medical cover they provide so promptly from the air.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
