Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 2nd July 2011 I am again taking part in the annual Mid-Antrim Animal Sanctuary sponsored dog walk in aid of the sanctuary's dog and cat residents.

I walk dogs at Mid-Antrim Animal Sanctuary most weekends and this is my third sponsored walk for them. I will be walking one of the sanctuary's many canine residents along the route in Antrim with the other participants.

Mid-Antrim Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit independent registered charity, which receives no financial support from the government. The sanctuary relies upon the generosity of the people of Northern Ireland.

Since April 1996, MAAS has found caring homes for an average of 20 animals each week. Some have been abandoned, others come because their owners have gone into care, or due to marital breakups or moving abroad, and others are unclaimed animals from pounds throughout Northern Ireland. MAAS has a strict NO KILL policy, so its kennels are always full.

Many of the animals need immediate veterinary care on admission - the sanctuary's vet bill is over £50,000 per year, with food and other bills being similarly high. MAAS must raise £14,000 each month to keep its doors open.

You can find out more about Mid-Antrim Animal Sanctuary here: http://www.midantrimanimalsanctuary.org/

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank You!
