Story

MIND OVER MATTER ...

Once again, Captain Zoom will be taking to the streets of Bath again in his bid to right wrongs and conquer injustice ... only this time he's a few pounds heavier than he should be and a shadow of his former fitness. Hmmmmm ...

This year, I'll be running for the mental health charity MIND in support of a mates cause to cycle 450km in 4 days during the epic London to Paris bike ride this year. Any support you can offer the charity, who also sponsors this cycling event, would be greatly appreciated and so, for my part, I have pledged to run 20K in under 2 hours on sun 6 March this year.

Now, all those who have supported me before will know that my personal best for the distance is 1.52 and a little bit more. But, a rib sprain injury last September, illness in December and Christmas overindulgence has robbed me of my powers so in order to regain my heroic resolve I need your help.

For every £5 sponsorship on this page, you can predict a time to the second between 1.45.00 and 2.15.00 that you believe will be my 'winning' time. As a guide, on 15 Jan, I completed 10K in 58 mins so clearly I cannot rest on my laurels! Include your best guess in the comments along with your heartfelt encouragement/taunts/jibes and the closest will be awarded a small prize along with a signed copy of me crossing the line. Now, be honest, who wouldn't want that on their mantlepiece? ;D

As promised, I have published all those who left predictions below - its likely I'll be somewhere in the middle. Thanks to all those who intend to cheer me on tomorrow.
